I've owned the Fantic for about 22 years, the '96 Tiger for 11 years &
the MV for 6 years. I suspect the first two are unusually long for any
type of bike (other than recognised vintage/classics), & the last is
unusually long for a sportsbike. Am I wrong?

well, I can't help with the very-long-ownership aspect, but sportsbike-
wise I owned my 'blade for 5 years, and 've owned the 7R for 4 years.

Although it's actual ownership is a tad nebulous, I bought the R65LS
in 2002, and still sort of have it.

    ZZR600 - 1.5 years
    ZXR750 - 5 years
    ZX9R - over 9 years
Sprint ST - 1 year and counting...

Bear in mind that all these were/are my *only* bike at the time.

I've had the Guzzi for 14 years, black MZ for 12 years, snorky MZ for 8
    years.

This is "have it" as in "have it in Simon's lockup".

I meant "have it" as in "have the V5, not entirely sure if it's still
    in Simon's lockup".

I've owned my 1971 Mini Cooper S for 27 years, from when my eldest
daughter was 2 weeks old. I haven't seen it in one piece since 1994 but
the reg number has appeared on numerous Minis since then. There's an
RD400F still in my ownership that hasn't been seen by me since 1996 - I
bought it in 1993 and I've forgotten where I stored the frame and some
    parts.

Of the vehicles currently at my house, the SR250 is the one I've owned
for the longest period of time, about 20 months.

  9. I'll have owned the Duke for 11 years come October. Longest I've ever
owned any bike. The 400 Four has graced the Chateau for 10 years.

    <Quick calculations>

    Morini#1 28 years
    Nordwest#1 13 years
    GFR#1 9 years
    Voxan 4 years
    WR250 2 years

The rest all less than a year.

Can't ever see me parting with the Morini now. Though it is looking a
bit sad after providing essential parts for the hill climber.

Somewhere, loads. It was just a normal tatty red Mk3 Cooper S back then
    - it's been all colours since being 'reshelled and had the engine
    replaced' numerous times.

  13. I've always wanted to ride one of them, ever since I knew someone at
Sussex Uni who had one. I just thought it looked so neat.

You're welcome to HAGM. But I think you'd be disappointed. It's special
    to me though.

It's currently on the road, but has the -mother- of oil leaks at the
moment. I know all Brits leak oil but this is something more than that.

If anyone happens to come across a yellow BMW 1602 fitted with an Essex
engine & fibreglass bonnet hump, please let me know. I left it
somewhere in the Chilterns in around 1987.

  17. I've just now realised I've owned the older of my two GSs for ~19 years,
    and the other for ~17.

  18. That was the problem with them - the experience (of shite old brits in
general) never lived up to the appearance.

I don't know what happened to the VW Scirocco I left parked outide my
old boss's premises. I think he might have had it towed away.

Likewise my old Fiesta. The DVLA still seem to think it exists, but I
haven't seen it since 2002 and I never bothered to report it missing.
    "Unlicensed" - no shit.
