Yebbut they all involve jiggling. It's just what you're using to
    make them jiggle that differs.

    Ahem.

I've been away so I'm a bit late... but never one to leave anything
alone. Most councils view taxis as public transport; use of bus lanes
etc. so I don't think this is hypocritical.

I've read the rhetoric further in this thread and suspect it's his
politics rather than policies that cause most people a problem with him.
Whether or not he brought congestion charging in it's plain that the
    status quo was unsustainable.

This is true. Despite the fact that he has mellowed a lot in his old
age he has never lost the "Red Ken" image in the eyes of the media and
    other opinion makers.

And... he was running the GLC, as far as I could see, to the
satisfaction of londoners, or at least those that I knew at the time.

He got kicked out of the GLC by the Tories to make political capital and
to lay the way open for obvious abuses including those carried out by
    Dame Shirley Porter etc.

He's been waiting for years; 15 or 20 I guess, to come back and lead
    London again.

I think he's doing an OK job.

Oh, and for what it's worth I don't live in London and have voted Tory
for almost all of my adult life (including the last time I voted).
