"In addition the London Safety Camera Partnership, which operates the
cameras, is introducing a new fleet of mobile cameras mounted on vans
to catch motorists who dodge fixed camera sites on major roads.

They are to target speeding drivers - especially motorcyclists - in west
London before their use is extended across the capital."

I'd say pretty much it'll be "only motorcyclists", as cars don't
really get the chance to speed in most of central London.

We can't complain about Ken. It is his fuckwittedness that has allowed
bikers to get away with so much in London for so long. It is the
fucking accountants you want to be targeting, the pit props of capital.

There was an article in the Sun today (I know!), the Chief Constable of
Durham County (Yeeeehhhaarrrr!!!) removed all their speed cameras, and
the accident rate went *down* by 43%.

IIRC, Co. Durham only had about two static cameras anyway.

Anyway, they don't need the revenue - I've never seen so many
    jam-sandwich Mercs and Beemers.

So, an open admission of bias. Not that this is news.

I like the way he gave the English rugby team "freedom of the city of
greater london" but refused to say at all what that bestowed

I hope it entitles them to go to his house and shit in his bed, whilst
    he's at work.

    Why?

He seems to have done a fair job based on the fact that both Tories and
    Labour are moaning at him.

    The car lobby claim he's fucked them over with the 'central london tax';
I note that bikes haven't been charged this. The bike lot now seen to
    be moaning; see above.

He seemed to have his heart in the right place and despite being a
life-long tory I can't think of a better man to run London; and that's
not just 'cos I think he'll cock a snook at the Labour party.

He believes in what he's doing and has spent a lifetime working for
London first in the GLC and later as the first elected mayor.

Right, what bit's wrong in this lot.

Ken Livingstone: the man that wants to get London using
public transport but will only use a taxi himself.

When people have been given freedom of other cities, have those Moyrs
    detailed exactly what it bestowed?

Of course not, but to say so isn't really having a dig at Ken for no
reason, is it? Shame on you, young Blaney.

    You wanker.

Yeah, try and come back from a fatuous, imbecilic remark by pulling the
old southern/northern mutual banter out of the bag. You've just made
yourself look like a right ****.

Yeah, I really can't get the hang of this "style-not-substance" approach
    to politics. Must try harder.

That's better, we can't have you all thinking that politicians are
actually there to do anything can we now.

The opposite actually. You just forget all about that nasty politics
stuff. Leave it up to the professionals.
