London / M25 area - MOT on Saturday?

Hi guys,

I've just fixed all the things that made my Hornet fail an MOT three
months ago (well, I only worked 2 weekends, but spent 2.5 months
thinking am I skillful enough to do them and now I wanted to MOT it
in Honda Dobles (Coulsdon) but was told over the phone, that their
Saturday mechanic has just handed them his notice so they cannot
accept Sat bookings at the moment.

Now I'm going on holiday in two weeks time so not much time to have
MOT arranged. I would prefer to have it done on Saturday as I'm paid
per hour, so taking time off work is not the best solution, but I
guess I could find a place to leave the bike in the morning (before
9?) and pick it up in the evening.

Have you got any recommendations to use? I've phoned up Metropolis
Motorcycles, as someone was referring them to me, but they said they
don't do Saturday MOTs. Any more options?

Ace! And closer than expected.
They said I don't need booking so I'm getting there the nearest
Saturday!

colour me not surprised, dobles customer service has always struck me as
at the idling end of the rev counter.

 

In which case you'll get done for no MoT if you get pulled on the way
there.

 

Booking isn't necessary - they'll just fit you in the next available gap
after you turn up - but they're happy to scribble your reg down in their
book just in case.

 

Funnily enough, I just thought of that, so I will contact them to make
sure they do write down my REG somewhere just to be safe.

 

Monday to Friday. Drop off, pick up later or day after?

Yes, that would be a second option, but it looks like I will actually
sort it out this Saturday.
