when you've finished squabbling amongst yourselves and decided on a
    venue, let me know.

I'll do some research tonight, and make a suggestion tomorrow.

Unless anyone's got a good reason for going somewhere that's not close
to where I am, of course...

I hear that there's some old electricity showroom or somesuch up in
Shoreditch that's been converted into a really nice pub, or something -
maybe we should drag Eddie along there?

Being just a yokel from the sticks, I'm not used to your fancy big
city talk, so I'll have to say *whoosh* to that.

Unless, of course, there really *is* an old electricity showroom or
somesuch up in Shoreditch that's been converted into a really nice
pub, or something - in which case, yeah, whatever.

Right: after some fairly limited exploration last night[1], can I
suggest the Hoop & Grapes, between 7 & 8-ish (gives me time to get
some grub), and see where we end up after that?

If anyone can give plausible reasons why that's a bad place, or a bad
time, I'm willing to listen to other suggestions. (Although given that
Google Groups lags about 3-6 hours behind 'real' Usenet, there's no
guarantee that I'll get to read it in time.)

Alternatively, if it's easier for people to have a quick drink after
work, give me a ring or send me a text.

[1] What is it with Monday nights? Everywhere seemed *empty*, apart
from a couple of places that seemed to have a small population of
suits. Or am I just drinking in the wrong area?

It's the city, people don't really stay there drinking in the evening.

I'm back from Paris now. Is it tonight you're going out? That's not so
good for me, I'm afraid. Tomorrow would be great, mind...
