It's a 20 minute walk from here, so about 6. If I'm not asleep by then.

god - please don't let it just be me and Kiran ;-)
I've been here since 8:20, with only a short lunch, most of the rest
of the office have gone home already, and the only pressing bit of
work I have today is to write a desk-moves policy document :-/

On a normal day i'd declare that pointless, but apparently I now have to
write a process document so that some numbskull in Bangalore can read
alerts from a console, and raise problem records for them. Apparently
they can't develop any processes for themselves... and once written it
    apparently needs a risk assesment.

"Risk: If you don't do this I'm coming to find you..."

I probably don't need to say I'm glad it's Friday.

How about this one I got today (actually, this is but one question
    among 20 or so)...

"According to the schedule you sent, this year's profits were £x
million, whereas last year they were £y million. Can you provide an
    explanation for this discrepancy?"

    Discrepancy? Cheeky fuckers.

  8. Hope so! I couldn't go in the end; still under the weather with
a bad chest cough, plus I had a couple of new DVD drives to install and test
(for the statisticians: one beige, one black; one Linux, one Windows...).

The CEO doesn't know how much profit each of our funds made. He does
    "big picture" stuff. Probably.
    Yeah, like that'd work.
What makes you think I haven't got any?

They really are wonderful. They'd be more wonderful if our share price
    ever returned to 1999 levels.

    Rewind to 1999/2001/whenever.

Biding your time doesn't always work as I'm sure many of us are aware.
