Little mobile camera

  1. Just a word off warning. Hillingdon council ( middlesex ) have brought
themselves a black smart car and put a video camera mount on the roof.
They roam around and take video's of various intersections to catch
out yellow box bandits and traffic light offenders etc, Its occupied
by 2 urban ethnics, who might not be the cutting edge, but can still
    ruin yer day....

    following:
Cool. Where did you hear this?
    What, around Hillingdon?
    Iraqis or just common soots?
None of 'em are cutting edge and are thick as shit. The traffic wog-
wardens round here can't even read properly.
Thank **** there's a light at the end of the London tunnel.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't actually have a problem with this. When I'm
in the car, people that block the box junction piss me off royally, and when
    I *had* a bike, a) I wouldn't have got stuck in a box junction, and b) Red
light jumpers should have their goolies cut off.

AOLish, except some red lights are fair game, like the temporary ones
on little country roads where you can see the other set & know the
    road's clear.

If the road's clear, you would be able to spot a car with a camera mount
    watching the light ;-)

I was referring more to those cunts who blatently tailgate the previous two
cars that were *also* taking the piss as the lights changed. IIRC, there's a
1 second longer amber period when there is a camera fitted. However, many
people seem to read Amber as, "**** it, go for it", as opposed to "Stop",
which is what it really means.

From my experience in Rome, I wasn't even aware they *had* an Italian
highway code. Traffic lights and Zebra Crossings appeared to be very much
optional, with bonus points for running people over with style.

  12. I believe I warned you of this, two or three months ago. Just
look at the number of video cams in Yiewsley High Street between Falling
    Lane and the Canal!

  13. The latest sighting is at the junction of west end road and station
approach. Those entering the box to turn right from the A40 are gonna
get nabbed if the lights still show green and there is no other
traffic. Sounds daft, but the green is on a ahead arrow and its
apparently illegal to enter and turn right until the little right
arrow comes on. Sneaky.aint the word. You use a little common and get
    sooty'd.
Oh and they park on someones drive.

  14. Same situation travelling north on Yiesley High Street and turning
right to go east on Falling Lane. Cameras everywhere and the first day
the enforcement came in I saw a chap in a posh car push forward into the
junction while there was still a red light instead of the right arrow, and
turn when the road was clear, still with no green arrow. I imagine he got
an expensive surprise a few days later.
Nowhere to park opposite Iceland, but enough static cameras that
    they don't need to.

Oh, check out this, BTW; could have a bearing:

  15. When I moved to Norfolk I had to adjust to the rule that when the lights
went to red the next 4 cars could go through.

That's not really a rule, it's just that they sometimes get their little
webbed feet stuck to the floor, bless them. Makes it quite tricky to
    find the brake.

That's the reason they're not really supposed to drive anything faster
    than a Massey Ferguson.

It's the size of some of the John Deer stuff that occupies both sides of
