Listening to music while riding

    Hello again.

I'm sure the highway code frowns upon people wearing earphones while
driving, but how do people using motorcycles get around this?

Is wearing earphones and listening to music regarded as okay on a
motorcycle? If not, are helmets with speakers in common?

Thanks for clearing this up for me.

  2. I don't think it's illegal.

No. It's easy to make your own (as I have).

Last time I popped in here this old chestnut was doing the rounds. It
must have stuck to the bottom of my boots and fell off when I came
    in..

    It seems like it.
It has something to do with the UKRM time dilation theory and your
    very own Special Reality theory

I would rather concentrate on what is going on around me when on a bike TBH,
rather than singing along inside my lid.

How loud exactly would your iPod/ MD player/ walkman/ whatever have to be so
you could hear it properly, prolly loud enough so you cant hear plod on your
    arse.

A fair point, well made. Ok then, and ambulance on its way to an accident.
Or a fireengine to a cat up a tree, you get the point.

The thing is, that I think its **** stupid to wear headphones on a bike.

You know when you see a boy racer going down the street with his mates and
his car stereo pumping out 120db of dance music, you think, "what a ****".
Well if you wear headphones your the same, *BUT NOONE KNOWS BUT YOURSELF*.

    Think about it...

I suppose that next you'll say deaf people shouldn't drive cars.

Observation can make up for being able to hear.
I generally think "Shite music, mate"
Ahh, erm.. no I don't get it.
    Hmmm.

Yes it's OK, no law against it. On longer trips I wear a combined
earplug/earphone thing that allows me to hear the music, and what's going on
around me. I don't have any problems.
