I kinda don't blame you for being skepticle regarding my mate's radiator
dramas, and I must admit, i Didin't get the full details only that he said
that he was quoted about $1200 for a new radiator...jesus..I don't even
think it'd cost me anywhere near that for my late model Magna's
    radiator...struth!!
Whilst having a non-working wife and 3 kids to feed, well it's sleeping in
the shed right now....the bike, not me mate, although I reckon it's been
    close a few times lately.

His bike is a ZRX1200 (the green machine) about 3-4 yrs old now, Km's
    unknown.
This is why I posed the question between air and liquid cooled and is there
any advantages and/or disadvantages of either in regards to cooling
effeciency and I've had a good mix of opinions...thanks fellas.

I had a little Kwaka Er5 not long ago for my licence bike and it was liquid
cooled and had no dramas so I'm not that worried about the merit of liquid
cooled but was wondering if it was actually any better in general.

I'll check out ebay for him as I don't think he has good internet coverage
where he lives.I think he's still on dial-up.

cheers and thanks for your imput

If you're anywhere near Sydney I can give you the details of a
radiator repairer in Hornsby who has reconditioned one of mine, and 4
mates rads ( car and bike). If you're out in the sticks I suggest
shipping it to a major city if there's nothing nearby - it shouldn't
cost more than a couple of hundred at worst unless the whole bike went
under a truck (in which case the radiator is the least of his
    problems).

  4. The reason for that would be that even an OE rad for a Magna would be
manufactured locally... and it wouldn't be exactly cheap, either...
otherwise, radiator workshops wouldn't be able to get away with
charging $350 for a radiator overhaul.

For most imported cars, I don't imagine a new OE radiator would leave
much change from a thousand bucks. Factor in the smaller core and
lower manufacturing volume of a bike rad, and it gets easy to see how
a brand-new OE radiator for a bike runs to $1200.

To reiterate, he's got no shortage of *much* cheaper options, cheaper
to the tune of amounting to 10% of that OE replacement cost... and you
shouldn't attach any worries about unreliability or complexity to
    liquid-cooling.

Don't know all that much about economies of scale or about production
    and warehousing costs then eh?

Jordan, please stop showing your age and knowledge. Warehousing is about
keeping things on shelves, not about large buildings.

And please leave in the attibutions.

If I run a motorcycle service business, and I keep a dozen spark plugs on
the shelf, along with a few light globes, and a speedo cable or two, that's
called warehousing Jordan. It will cost me money.
You don't have a bloody clue, do you. See above, or get Zebeee to explain
    about clue colonies and musk.
