Subconscious desire to join me in the place about to be renamed as
    "NofuckinwayIwanttolivethereitschavcity"

Anyway "Leeds" works, too... after a fashion....and is much more
    accurate.... :p

Andy Wegg bored us all completely to death with wittery prose along the
    lines of:
I do so hope that you're not talking about the nipper. :)

Well I agree Jack, but Steve had gone into picky mode so I played safe

Ho Yuss. And I did think of contacting you. (at rosbif.org?)
Maybe we could get a ridepout next time I'm over there on two wheels
    rather than two wings.

No Doubt Des will want to have his own bash at that but he offered his
flat considerably earlier and not as he is trying to make out as some
kind of 'compensation' for not being around.
Which bits of my limericks quote private conversations?
Perhaps the bit where he offered as a solution to his deciding to piss
off to Spain for ten days, that we should hang around in paris three
days after our flight had left so we could get an audience with him.

But then that's the whole reason I got aggrieved enough to give him a
pisstaking on a public forum. It hardly constitutes revealing something
really personal or hurtful does it?

Can you find any bits of my limericks which you consider over the top in
    revealing personal off group conversation?

I found the whole thing very amusing in many ways but also sad that an
issue which is between two grown men has to be brought into the public
    domain.

I mean it's one thing having the mickey taken in public when you've
    cocked-up in public.....it's the old 'post-here, reply-here' thing and I
think the converse is true. I'm not saying that you have revealed
anything on usenet from personal correspondence between the two of you
but this clearly was a private arrangement which seems to have gone
    sour.

    My 2 cents worth.

Yep, fair comment Jeremy. I waited a couple of days after my last email
to Des for a response which might sort it out but none was forthcoming
so I resorted to the pisstake on the public forum to flush him out.

I avoided directly quoting any personal stuff precisely to avoid the
accusation he's made anyway. I guess it ain't gonna get patched up now.

  14. I *think* (and no doubt will be corrected if I am wrong) that Des takes
a simple and yet fundamental view of the right to privacy. *Anything*
that takes place away from the newsgroup involving him should *never* be
revealed to *anyone* without Des's permission. Without wishing to get
embroiled in any view of the rights or wrongs of the above I think that
*if* the above is the test that Des applies then you have "broken" his
rules (and undoubtedly, in his view, French law). I don't want to argue
about the applicability or otherwise of French law to the "Rog and Des
    lover's tiff".

While I understand his desire for privacy the bit that doesn't seem to
register with Des is the fact that the majority of people cannot live by
the same strictures and will inevitably gossip and talk about people to
other people that they know. It's simply a fact of life. It may not be
desirable but short of suing every single person you know for breach of
privacy I don't know how you stop people doing it.

    Good points well made.
I'm afraid my current POV in the light of the invective contained in
Des' gritty riposte to my comparitively gentle pisstake is this:

Maybe if he didn't act like such a twat people wouldn't feel the need to
provide explainations for their feelings towards what he had said/done
to them in private that require some elucidation of the shit that had
    gone down.

    I couldn't say he's a ****
He does have some traits of a ****
But that's his fault for being a ****.

    Unlike you, eh?
Nobody gives a shit. Just like you supposedly don't, but then still
    type out these rambling...
    ....and laughable posts.
When will you learn how not to be an arse, how to change the record or
how to **** off? In case you didn't know - see that Sir.Tony feller -
it's hard to tell which one of you is worse for repeating the same old
    tat.
I doubt he'd waste the effort. I'm slightly ashamed I've wasted this
much, but ne'er worry - shan't do it again. I don't care if this is
classed by you as Des-bashing or whatever. Just take a look at how you
are - do you not aspire to more? (this is rhetorical, btw).

  20. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember
Remember to unpack the Glock. Security get a bit sniffy about souvenir
    firearms.
