I know this has been visited before, but....
Are the 'timed between 2 points' speed cameras a reality in the
    Limehouse link?
Has anyone actually got a ticket after passing all 3 road markings at
    30, and caning it in-between?
I ask this, as I've seen a number of couriers doing so, and they're
    usually the ones with experience.

AFAIK they work just like normal Gatso cameras hence the timing marks in the
road by each camera. IIRC I've even seen them flash. Without wishing to
incriminate myself, I think your theory about the couriers may be correct.

    Thanks Tony.
I've also seen them flash (at the entrance). I assumed that the one at
the entrance worked as a normal Gatso as well. The one in the middle
seems to be at right-angles to traffic flow (never seen that one flash).
The original hype about these cameras was that they were digital,
clocked you on the way in, clocked you on the way out, & calculated your
    average speed over the distance.
I'm just not so sure any more

I thought the story was that they were digital, but otherwise operate
just like normal Gatsos. I.e., they never run out of film.

SPECS is the system that measures average speed between two points, and
it looks very different to a Gatso, it's more like a CCTV camera.

Looking into it, that's correct. No mention of average speed. Must be
something my paranoid mind dreamt up.

I presume you mean the Eastbound one, at the Canary Wharf slip?

If so, look out for the normal facing one, about 6m behind it.

It's tucked away in the alcove, right at the point where the road
widens. And it works. (well, it flashes, anyway)
