One month ago: SWMBO buys an immaculate secondhand set of passing lamps for
    me buffday which muggins fits.

Last week: Bowling along in the overtaking lane of the A11 near Snetterton
something silver goes wizzing past my ear. Methinks "what was that silver
thing that's just gone wizzing past my ear?". Look around the front of the
bike and notice passing light visor gone. Methinks "the silver thing that's
just gone wizzing past my ear is a passing light visor which is now probably
sitting somewhere in the central reservation and as they are only about a
tenner a set I'll not waste my time and life trying to find it" Find out
later, silver thing that went wizzing past my ear is in fact passing light
rim which you cannot buy separately as Mr Yamaha wants you to buy a new set
of lights at £99.99 (at least its not a hundred quid).

Saturday: Ring Tinklers in Norwich and Phil says "hmmm, leave it with me to
have a chat with Yamaha on Monday and see if I can work something out, like
perhaps they've got a duff set lying around and would be willing to send the
rim to us, a long shot but might work"

Today: Phil tried but couldn't get anywhere. (cheers for trying anyway).

Right, inside the bowl of the lamp is a sticker with "J & C Enterprise" on
it. Methinks, "aha, find J & C Enterprise and see if I could get a rim from
them". WTF are J & C Enterprise? No joy googling. Perhaps I could get a
third party (i.e. cheaper) set opf lights ... but are the fittings universal
i.e. would they fit the Yammy bar the lights are mounted on?

What to do, what to do? And to think this is down to one manky self tapping
    screw which came loose.

    Any ideas folks?

Wot, an get one of them sprot bike things with a riding position akin to a
stray mongrel mounting the local tramp bitch. Nah mate, I want to sit
upright and take the wind in the chest ... like a man.

I'd need bloody great tits to ride a sports bike to stop myself laying down
horizontal on the tank. Anyway, with the way the tank suddenly bulges up
immediately in front of the seat, I wouldn't have enough room for the old
    fella.
