    To many X-Rays?
Despite being of the punk generation its one genre of music I've never
    really liked.

    That's cos it's mostly rubbish.

What it spawned (IMHO) OTOH was rather good.

The same applies to most genres.

I can think of more listenable punk than prog. Give me Sham 69 over ELP
    any day.

Heh, Smoothies and Greebos, you must have been into Status Quo et al
then. I think I was semi-associated with the Greebo lot 'cos of riding
    my SO Beeza around.

Certainly not. Was very commonly used in the Derby/Nottingham area in
the '70s, often as a direct synonym with 'greasers'.

    Champ says...
Up north a Greebo was a scruffy long haired youth normally dressed in
ripped jeans and bike jacket. Oil under the fingernails was optional but
    a definite plus.

Oooh, I've just remembered another characteristic, which was to
continue wearing a pair of jeans, duly oil- and petrol-stained, way
beyond their point of no return, simply adding a new pair beneath
until the outer pair actually disintegrated, then repeating ad
    infinitum.
And in the hair, on the face...

I only had tribal issues with mods & Poles, got on fine with the punks.
I just hated the noise, with the possible exception of the Dead
    Kennedys.
    Abba are timeless.
