Shame innit, all the local girls have dissapeared along with the local
shops, for the local people :)
Is a supermarket checkout girl as good a shag as a local shop girl?

    Lentil soup for tea?

I'm only fucking about. Adie does the shopping and I don't think we
have a Waitrose in Bedford. For quality food I used to think you'd
have to go a long way to beat M&S but I don't know if they even sell
    food any more.

They do - it's been so successful for them they now have a chain of
stand alone 'Simply Food' stores and have recently bought 28 sites from
    Iceland.

    :)

I always cause a queue in somerflids, the checkout enployee always calls
for the supervisor and asks if they can give change on the vouchers.
Every single time I go in the same thing happens, I've half a mind to
write a letter, if I knew it would make a blind bit of difference.

Until then I'll have to keep smiling at those people looking pissed off
    in the queue.

My mate is manager up there. He was given the choice between food and
non-food - he went for food. Silly ****.

  11. I saw that over here, so it would most likely have been a weekend brunch
time thing on a beeb channel.
    Splendid idea too.
I'd have said Aldi - but it was certainly a pikey store - and some of
the premium names, Harrods, M&S etc were way down the list.

You'll need to explain why he's a silly **** because I'd have thought
he was better selling food than nighties to the over 50's.

Hmmmm, when you put it that way, I can see your point.

However, when it goes tits-up, which it often does, I'd prefer to roll
my sleeves up and hang up a few shirts and suits etc rather than put a
coat on and haul pallets around a coldroom.

I was thinking more along career lines and sales bonuses rather than
how easy a life you'd get. If an easy life is the overwhelming factor
in deciding where to work have you ever considered Clintons selling
    cards?

Sales bonuses in food retail? - You must be joking.

Career progression is pretty evenly matched - from an M&S food store you
could move onto assistant manager in Tesco etc., but if you stick with
the non-food side then there's a choice of all the department stores
plus the large clothing / homewares high street and retail park
retailers to choose from. Invariably, if you're from a food background,
a fashion company won't even look at your CV.
Heh. I wouldn't get out of bed for what they pay their managers, plus
I'd be bored to tears. I think I've got a nice balance at the moment -
lots of stuff going on to keep me occupied, but without the piss-off
factor of hauling 750kg pallets of food around.

Not the one I use. The food is excellent but fucking expensive I end up
spending a fortune on pointless stuff, like Monsoon Malobar.

Which is why it is sensible to go shopping in Waitrose on a Saturday
when all the teenagers are working. Lots of choice for everyone ;-)
