Legal Help Please : Motorcycles and Parking Fines

  1. I think you'll find they are wise to this now and do indeed remove the
obstruction to read the plate, or, just call for a lift and tow.

    DoetNietComputeren says...
It's still unlawful for them to remove the covering from a plate, so the
ticket can and should be deemed as invalid. Met Police aren't bothered
about lifting and towing bikes, they have bigger fish to fry.

  4. I don't know what the legal view of a motorcycle with a stopped engine
is, but logically (and there's a word with no use in law) if it's simply
wheeled over the pavement, it's nothing more than a bicycle.

He was parked on the pavement. It's a road bike for a start, not a pavement
bike, so yes, his ticket is "good"

I read very recently that attendents are now allowed to lift
sheets/bags/whatever is hiding number plates these days. Could be bollocks,
but I don't think I'd take the chance.

In uk.rec.motorcycles, Pete Fisher belched forth and ejected the
    following:
Slash their throats and **** them for breakfast.

I'll have a pint of that too Mark and I don't fucking drink:)
