If you wish. I've been in the city almost as long as I've lived in rural
    areas, so fair enough.
Not yet, didn't quite get to, but I fitted the staintunes last night,
and took it up to get the warranty repair this morning, so I'll do the
blinkers on the weekend. I thought I'd ask the question before I started
    fiddling.

Another consideration is that many bike charging systems are marginal as
regards to extra capacity, sometimes people find that running heated
handgrips in conjunction with high beam can lead to the battery drain
    exceeding the incoming alternator current.

Replacing the incandescant blinker globes with LED blinker assemblies
would go some way to addressing the charging problems that these
    'problem' bikes have...

It's also why smoking is a shockingly bad health risk!

Yep, instructions by Steve Curtis, who was looking for somewhere to
put it. There's some other sets of instructions around, including
BTH's Cricket Bat Handle Cover Edition.

So how far do you ride with the indicators on?
(My record so far is 50 k in one go....)

I'd have thought that an LED taillight would be more useful in this regard.

Big W, Auto 1, Coventries, almost any auto shop. Just ask for an electronic
flasher unit and hand over your money. They are not load dependant. I think
I convinced Zebee to use these by donating her one some yearss ago. She's
converted, as you will be. You'll never buy a current dependant one again.

  10. They are not load dependant. I think

I thort him had double rate flashing in the event of a blown bulb?

blown bulb = lower current or higher resistance

    both exhibited by LED light

althO if it is intended to be a direct replacement for incandescent
bulb, would you not make sure him am same current \ resistance?

maybe not if $120 'compensating box thing' can be foisted on
    unsuspecting customer!

Good! I'll be adding indicators to the "new" CT90 when I get it on the
road (it never had them fitted!), and blinkers running on 6V electrics
    are, from memory, woeful. ;-)

On my first scooter[1], (Vespa 50) the (aftermarket) indicators were
operated by a set of D-cell batteries. The flasher controller had a
little electric motor, a reduction gear and a cam-operated switch. I
think it was intended as bling bling for a pushbike.

When it stopped working I took it off to make the scooter roadworthy
again. (Didn't need indicators, but if fitted they had to work)

[1] long ago and far away.....

If you could please learn to include the name of the poster you are
responding to it would help a great deal. It would also help if you had not
had the same teacher as Scrote.
To answer what I think you were asking. The "double the blink rate if a
globe blows" function only works on three pin flashers. Most bikes use two
pins flashers which do not have that functionality. elctronic flashers are
available in two or three pin units. however, you cannot replace a two pin
    with a three pin unit.

Please note the fullstop in your included quote. The "I think" is part of
another sentence and is not related to the previous statement. You ccould
take "Reading Comprehension 101", and, while you're on a roll, "Ow 2 Rite".

Did you get that off Lampie's home page? (Or off his charge-sheet?)

That reminds me of once when I took a bike in to rego, unaware that they'd
introduced this "roadworthy" inspection (I'd previously registered on a
Friday what was literally the frame and engine of a rebuild I wanted to
    ride on the Sunday).
The inspector found that the indicators didn't work and gave me a minute to
    fix them.
"But I didn't think bikes even needed indicators" I whined.
"If they're fitted they have to work" he responded.
"So if I can't get them working I fail?"
"If fitted they have to work"
"Oh no, I'm stuffed if I can't get them working"
"IF FITTED; they have to work!"

Finally the penny dropped; I whipped the indicators off and he signed the
    paperwork!
