Bah! DSE is for the tryhard nerds - you need to use a decent
electronics supplier like Jaycar or Altronics. Haven't seen many
    resistors rated over 10W off-the-shelf, instead connect 3 x 10W 22ohm
resistors in parallel, gives a 7.3ohm 30W resistor (cost $4.50).

    Cheers

Or you could just get some resistive wire, work out the required length
and allow for the heat disapated and wind it onto a heat resistent form,
probably with a small heat sink.

Most people forget that electrical items run on smoke. Hence the
massive burning of coal down in Gippsland to fill the wires with <vbg>.

Or you can go down to Woolies and buy one off the shelf for $12.

And voila! The blinkers now flash at the right speed _and_ you've got
    heated handgrips!

  11. There's a pdf floating around (I _think_ I got it from Sharkeys zoic.org
website) about DIY heated grips using that stuff...

I have seen that article. I'm considering doing before heading down to
    the MotoGP this year.

Yeah thanks for reminding me Al, but the EPA isn't involved so we can't
get into a situation where there is no way of making it legal /
    clearing the "defect" again

Hehe Burnie will be unsurprised to hear I've got plenty of time, it's
in for warranty repairs at the moment...and the fitting of a Power
    Commander.

    JL
(same issue, leaking base gasket, the ausmoto Cagiva owners club will be
unsurprised to hear the gasket didn't arrive on the promised date and
that it took 6 weeks for it to come in. Boxer, you want to poke your
mate Feeney in the ribs and tell him his company's warranty repairs
    service sucks ?)

Woolworths supermarket or Big W ? I don't recall my local supermarket
    stocking blinker cans.

    JL
(looked at them closely last night, there's actually 14 Leds on the
board, and a couple of resistors can be seen, so I'm going to try
plugging them straight in and see what happens)
