Leathers for spring/summer

I'm after a set of zip together leathers, ones that will be track day
    friendly etc. I'm 6' 3" & have long legs & arms. I have looked at a few
sets, but none come near my arms & legs. TBH the shops don't really
cater for tall riders round here. They will order you some in, but if
they dont fit you are stuck with them.

Anyone know anywhere or anyone that do the kind of thing I'm after?

I'm not after spending silly money either.

    TIA

Go to one of the bike shows in London later this month. For leathers
I'd suggest Ally Pally and I think you'll more than save the cost of
    getting there.

Bad form etc but the Manchester bike show is on later this month.
Someone more local will have been previously and might be able to
advise on what's normally up for grabs and expected prices.

You think so - last few times I've been, the selection of "normal" [1] with
any sort of discount has been pants. Usually can get some deals on other
    bits.

[1] As in not bright pink with orange stripes.

I saved about £100 on an Alpinestars jacket a couple of years ago but
it was old stock. It depends on what you want and what your
expectations are but I'd expect to find leathers there cheaper than at
    a dealer.

The really cheap stuff is at the BMF but that's not for a few months
and I've found you really have to be careful because it's more likely
to be 'seconds quality' than remainders iyswim.

Went there once about 3 years ago - chaos. I can imagine bargains aplenty
especially in the Hein Gericke tents, but the fight to get stuff was scary.

  12. Eh? You don't pay for them before trying them on.

  14. True. If a dealer isn't confident of his measuring, and the supplier
isn't sure of his ability to make a size consistent, I'd take the
requirement of paying up front as a sign of that and vote with my feet.

I wouldn't pay up front full stop. I don't know of a supplier who won't
take a return because it doesn't fit the end user after trying it on in
the shop. We'd always take them back at the last firm.

If you special order anything, they want paying up front. I am talking
    about special order only.

Today I think, so it may be a bit late now.
I've never seen anything spectacularly good value at the G-Mex shows, apart
from a set of cans a few years ago.

Normally up for grabs: all the tat they couldn't sell during the summer
    months.
Price: same as it would be in a shop.

I wouldn't go unless it was a free ticket, and even then I wouldn't be
    expecting much.
