Leathers for short women wanted...

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Chris Deuchar, May 9, 2005.

  1. Well for just one short 5'2" SWMBO actually.
Everywhere we have been only seems to cater for women with legs about
    12' too long.

    Any ideas pleez?

Have a pair of JTS 30" Size 18 leg leather trousers that were my wifes,
she's 5'3 (Although they are nearer a 16! and ideal for woollies/t shirt to
be tucked in to). Little worn. No scuffs. Need a few stitches on a belt loop
that the stitching has gone on to secure it back to the waist
    Yours for only £30.
email me if you need pics.

And not just for leathers - buying jeans/trousers is a sod as well
    when you're petite.
Try HG or trawl round the stalls at the BMF. Keep an eye on Ebay.

If you do find a decent source let me know.

You seem to have misspelt "dumpy".

My SWMBO's a similar height, and we had similar problems. Eventually settled
on Akito - not the most renowned make in the world, but they do make kit in
    ikkle sizes.

Really? When Sally and I tried them a few years back, they had nothing in
the shorter sizes. If you were a size 10, they seemed to assume you were a
six-foot German woman - the knee armour did a good a good impression of shin
pads. Maybe they've changed their range since then.

At least ladies clothes are available in petite sizes. There isn't a
"Stumpy" range for us short arse blokes.

my wife, 4ft 9", had to go to the bike shop in Stevenage, buy something that
fit her bum/thighs and then have about six inches cut from each leg above
the knee via alterations. Worth it in the end as she looks cracking in
    them!

You're not wrong. SWMBO is 4'11.75"

The ebst place she's found for jeans is Gap. Or Levi's ordered from the
    states.

If you have any other ideas, please let me know, shopping with her is a
    drag.
