Take a look at the Fieldsheer Blaster one piece suit at A&S, its and an
    absolute bargain!

I looked at nearly everything available off the shelf and this suit is very
    impressive for the price.

It's available in red, blue, yellow and green schemes and some web sites
reckon it is 1.4-1.6mm thick leather, and the leather is indeed good quality
and very thick, significantly more than Dainese/Alpinestars and even gericke.

The decorative leather is overlayed over the main panels and in some cases
makes it triple thick. Two inside pockets which is nice, the usual stretch
panels and good protection at knees, shins, shoulders, elbows and thighs. They
should, I have found out, include sliders. All relevant seams are triple
    stitched and YKK zips.

The price is pennies short of 300 quid, A&S have discounted it heavily but
    sizes may be limited.

They also do a zip together 2 piece for same price and quality.

Don't take my word have a gander.

Nowt to do with A&S just a happy customer.

  2. Not always. Kangaroo hides are a byproduct of the culls that take
place in Australia. In the high temperatures associated with the
region, the decomposition process is acellerated and kangaroos that
are killed early in the day will yield weaker hides than those killed
late in the day and thus subjected to the preservation process
earlier. Recent tests on kangaroo hides, for a legal action, have
produced significant disparity in hides from the same batch.

You *really* need to get out more.

He does. This kind of thing is Paul's day job. He's one of those people
you should be thanking as you walk away uninjured from yet another bin
    at the track.

    Y'don't say. Guess that's why I must've included a smiley.

Arse :) As you don't post here that often I assumed you didn't know who
    Paul was.

My mistake, just me doing a Murray again.

  7. I am always grateful to Lozzo for his words of support. I also hope to
take Alex's advice later this year when work will hopefully take me to
Oz, when if the timing is right I can perhaps combine "getting out
more" with participating in the kangaroo cull. ;-)

  8. Having had the dubious "pleasure" of working [1] with several Italian
manufacturers of motorcycle clothing, plus having had the professional
opportunity to inspect their wares on numerous occasions, and with the
benefit of test data that is available to me, I can only support
Lozzo's suitably succint appraisal - with or without the added "e" on
    the end. :)

[1] Whilst drafting the European Standards for motorcycle clothing,
boots and gloves, which the Italian industry were constantly trying to
water down to a meaningless level. Fortunately, they didn't get their
way and the six standards in question will deliver decent products.
The same cannot be said for the back protector standard EN 1621-2,
however, which was comprehensively hijacked by the Italian coalition.
For further details, read the BMF PPE & CE Marking briefing document,
    or visit my website www.pva-ppe.org.uk.

  9. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember (Paul

    Interesting stuff. Thanks for that.
