XR250 or a KLR250. Cheap, dime a dozen and you can save your money until
you get a full licence and buy something like a Transalp or a KTM 950
    Adventure. ;)

    Oh yeah!

2m == 6.6", which is just a bit shorter than me.

It depends on your leg length and configuration but I could squeeze on
an ER-5. I have previously sat on a CG125 for four hours before
someone had to pull it out of my arse.

If you're looking for just a leaners bike then look for some off road
style thing. They're usually quite tall and come in small engine
    sizes.

When you've passed your test then I suggest some time on a 500 until
you've got used to crashing before you move on to something big.

The sportiest bike you're likely to feel at home on is probably going
to be a Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom. A Triumph Tiger would probably be
better, but it's not as 'sporty' - if one can call a V-Strom sporty,
    of course.

A bike your size would ideally be something like a BMW R1150GS
Adventure but they're not sporty at all but can be quite fun.

That's my suggestion straight out of the hat but you'll find yourself
limited until you get some experience and develop your own opinion as to the
    bikes and riding you prefer.

Go and have a sit on a few different bikes including bike styles that you
aren't preferable to then make a decision.

    Cheers Aurimas!

    i am 6'2
i found the ER to be really uncomforatble after 5 minutes. i think an
offroad bike is a great idea for learning on, and they are very tall.
i learnt on a honda VT250 which was small but fine.

I seem to have no trouble being sporty on it

or is it that the majority of R1 riders are pussies?

It really does depend on how long your legs and arms are. Height can
give a good indication of what bikes are the right size on tlarger
models, but on smaller ones one has to take into account arms, upper
    body, legs...

I am 190cm tall and ride a VTR 250, not the quickest bike around but
reasonably sporty, handles fantastic, and great bike for a learner to
cut their teeth on. Size wise the bike is pretty good, the slightly
foot back position means you can keep your knees out from under your
    chin.

I just brough at Hyosung GT250R sports bike... I'm 6'2 and found it to be
the most comfortable... in that I am actually comfortable as opposed to
    cramped

im about 200 cm, and want to buy an RGV250... any tall riders own or have
ridden RGV's can tell me if its going to be painful?
