Leaky fork seals?

    Put down the manual and walk slowly away.

    Get the bike on the centrestand and remove the front caliper and hose guide.
    Secure the caliper so it isn't pulling the brake hose.

    Slacken the front axle and yoke pinch bolts. Place a jack or chog of wood
    under the engine to lift the front wheel clear of the ground.

    Remove the front wheel and mudguard, then slacken the pinch bolts a bit more
    and pull the fork leg out.

    There is an allen bolt at the base of each fork leg. This retains the damper
    rod and makes for a drain hole too. Remove it.

    Remove the circlip atop the fork seal, then remove the top circlip. I
    suggest you enlist help to do this. Once thats come out, the fork spring
    can be removed.

    Hoik the fork leg apart to pull the old seal out, fit the new seal.

    Reassembly is the reverse of the above.

    Or pay a man to do it.


    Not a difficult job if the Haynes procedure isn't followed.
