How much clearer would you lioke TOG's reply rephrasing? RTFM, YTC.

Or at the very least learn to work google. This should give you
    everything you need.

I'd assume, probably quite dangerously, that the petseal that he has, has
become separated from its manual, or he would have read it.

Although in that case I would have posted something along the lines of
"I've just bought some Petseal, it doesn't seem to have any instructions.
Does anyone know what proportions to mix it in etc etc"

Hmmm, I may sit this one out.

AFAIK it is a 2 part epoxy resin system. Mix the bottles together & pour the
result into your tank, swilling it around to coat the internal surfaces. The
differance in size of the bottles is a good indicator of what ratio each
needs to be used, the smaller bottle is the 'hardener' - please don't alter
the ratio in the belief that you'll get either longer time before it sets or
    a harder/stronger set.
You have an X amount of time before it goes off, if you don't have the
f#kk'ing manual which it has been helpfully suggested you read then I'd
contact the maker/supplier as environment, ambient temperature & lots of
other things can have an effect.

*** Common sense should be used regarding your fuel tap & cap (air breather
    hole !). ***

Unless it's a rare/valuable tank, I'd be reluctant to rely on it where leaks
are involved, it may do what it says on the tin but ultimately . . . if it
    doesn't ?

I used it umpteen years ago to seal the inside of a rusty tank that car size
fuel filters couldn't cope with anymore (very effective too) after having
sought the advice of a road racing legend who is (thankfully) slightly less
arrogant/bitchy/th'toopid than the clique which seems to dominates this NG.

Of the worst kind, it seems.
He won't survive, I can tell you that much.

In fact, it's ages since we had any top-poster trolls who could manage
more than the occasional wriggle on the hook. Whatever hapenned to the
good ol' days, when flame wars could go on for months?

Well, probably something along these lines:

"Hello, ukrm, my name's Banditfrenzy. I can't just offer straightforward,
constructive and helpful advice to the OP without making a deliberate arse
of myself, 'cos that would be too sensible, and I'm a wild and wacky kinda
guy. I'm a chin-out individualist, me, and just to prove to you all that I
go my own way, do my own thing, make my own rules and **** everyone else on
the planet shall I tell you what I do - well I will whether you want me to
or not - I ALWAYS ride my bike on the wrong side of the road - well it's the
right side as far as I'm concerned but it's the wrong side for all you you
dull, grey, conventional, herd-mentality tossers. I NEVER give way, 'cos
that's weak and I'm dead tough, me. Look at my post: I refuse to spell
'lives' without the 'grocer's apostrophe'. And if you don't like me
top-posting, you miserable bastards, I'll start side-posting soon, and
that'll REALLY annoy you - which will give me a childishly warm and cuddly
feeling for having upset you. I'll be sniggering into my Ribena all day
about that. And I'll tell you something else. Sometimes I refuse to brush
my teeth and say my prayers to the baby Jesus before I go to beddy-byes."

    Thanks all for your input,

Thank you Band for you helpfull reply.

    I do not know what
RTFM YTC & other abbreviations stand for and I'm also not sure on the
Top posting thing (is this where you post your answer above the post
    you are answering??)

Anyway i cut a bit of ply and drilled holes in it so that i could fit
it over the tap hole in tank.

Mixed both containers, poured into tank and swilled around.

20 mins later it was setting.

yesterday i filled the outside of the tank (several holes over a 3inch
square area of about 1-3 mm in Diameter) with some product from a car
    repair shop.

My carbs are cleaned i need to get them on along with the tank and see
what happens. Running poo before as the rusty water from beneath the
tank had leaked into the air filter.

    here'''''''s hoping

    Ace thanks for the link.
i know how to work google mate but rather than search & sift for a
while i thought i would just ask the question in a group full of
people who know about these things and would be glad to either offer
their advice and guidance (or a link) or leave it to ones who could.
