    Life is too fucking short.

I'll just buy from people I can punch in future.

I have already made the greatest contribution to the fight against climate
change that I can make: I have decided not to breed. Now quit bugging me and
go and talk to the Catholics.

That does seem horribly close to the truth sometimes.

Don't. For shits and giggles just write them a letter stating that
under the distance selling act you reject the item and await them
refunding your costs including postage, and arranging collection at
    their expense...

Then send a copy of that letter to your credit card company if nothing
    happens.

Which still leaves me with no visor. And the replacement visor has been
fitted and worn, so it's not in original condition. I'll live with the
oddly-tinted one and replace the helmet at some point.

And never, ever, *ever* buy another visor on-line.

    And I was going to.

    Really, really, really, I was.

But I rode home in sunshine this evening and the thing is fucking
lethal. The internal reflections are so bad that it's practically opaque
with sun on it. So it's going back.

Here's the picture I'm about to email them:

And *no*, it's not a protective film. I have scratched (unobtrusive)
areas of both sides of the visor and it's a part of the visor itself.

Stab in the dark - they left the protective film on one of the panes
before fitting them together. The panes do come apart quite easily iirc
    - just double sided tape.

I had a similar effect on my temporary Schuberth. It was like the
original protective film had somehow reacted with the Makrolon.

I can't understand why anyone complains about shit service when
they've checked things out and gone for the cheapest option.

Why would trading standards stop shops selling tinted visors? They're
not illegal to own or sell, just illegal to use on the public highway.

In fact, even my clear visor that came on my Shoei XR1000 has stamped
on it "Not for road use"!.

In my experience they are. I could have bought my recent light tint
visor from J&S in Birmingham quite easily, but I wasn't prepared to
spend the 60 quid they wanted.

They are. I've recently bought tinted visors for both our helmets from
    Custom Lids on the Hill.

    Jim posted:
As one with some years of experience in the trade, I can confirm that
this is pretty much the case. Clear visors tend to be ordered as
required, generally one at a time; tinted visors nearly all go to
non-UK markets - a few are sold via outlets in NI, where conditions
    are a bit different.

Such as, for example, Crossan Motorcycles, trading as TheVisorShop.com,
