    .... fore and aft.

When you've got fed up bleeding brakes, and re-bleeding brakes, and
re-rebleeding brakes, in attempt to get pedal pressure, take time out
to check out the fit of the pedal on the splines of the spindle. If it
is as little as two teeth out, you won't manage it.

Put it back how it should be (not a simple job, seeing as how it's a
GL1500 - the footrest has to come to pieces first: - two bolts, one
cotter pin, one pingfukkit spring.), et voila, instant pedal pressure,
    and working brakes.

OEM grips back on makes the bars feel "right", too.

Putting the undercover on the bottom yoke was an absolute git of a
job, even by GoldWing standards: about an hour, to fit two 4mm allen
    bolts, and two hose clips.

RHS silencer refitted with the correct seal took ages, too, mainly due
to bent flanges at the join end which needed some percussive
maintenance to solve. Also Kwiksteeled a bolt into a hole to seal the
    silencer/ fishtail cover.

Only the lhs silencer, and lhs pillion footrest cover to go, then it's
    off to the MOT station.

Oh, and another top tip: if you lose your keys for a KH500, don't turn
the garage upside down in vain, then wait three months for your local
shop to order you a pair - get the wife to sort out the sideboard, cos
that's where she'll have put them for "safe keeping".

    *Priceless* :)

Mind you, I'm the bloke who had to order a new lockset for his tool
chest cos he couldn't find the keys after moving house. The day the
lockset arrived, I found some suspiciously familiar looking keys in
    the kitchen drawer.

On similar lines, when you can't find the new brake piston you won on
Ebay for your SOB, because it's no longer on the windowsill where you
left it, and your missus says it's still there, and you say it's not,
and she denies ever moving it, and you know for sure that's where you
left it, try moving her plastic trays of plants to see if she's put one
    on top of it.

  4. SOP from wimmin. I lent youngest sprog my spare key for her uncles
house. On asking for it back she said "It's in the study where you
asked me to leave it." After a full search followed by a frank
discussion it was in her bag so it didn't get lost in the study.
