I used to buy my own world-wide insurance for ~£80 and then bill it to the Uni. This year it was £85, so I switched to the Uni's scheme which is £75/year but unfortunately doesn't cover me for non-work travel. However, my NatWest Advantage Gold account includes travel insurance, but it looks like I need to call them up before travelling to get medical clearance (which is then valid for 12 months). Quite possibly -- I know there was such a clause in some benefits I was covered for once, but I've mislaid the original full documentation and all they send me is changes. The full version isn't on their web-site as far as I can find, and the one time I went into a bank to ask for a replacement the queues were horrendous enough that I just left.
