Large trail type bike advice

I quite like mine too.

 

I've had an XLV750R and a TDM850.
I loved them both but they were old tech' and _slow_.
Make sure you're really, REALLY sure that you don't want something
with 4 cylinders.
I'd personally go for a XJR or FJ1200 or similar. Big, grunty engines.
Having said that, I'd like to try the DL, though have read the the TDM
900 is actually heavier and less powerful than the old 850.

undertake them in the twisties as well?
