OK, bad form, but ...

I have done a minimal amount of research into this and what I have found out
is ...

1. There are only a couple of weekends a year where the ring is open all
weekend.

2. These dates are announced in February and hotels near the ring fill up
almost immediately upon announcement.

3. So ... anybody who was organising such a trip would need to know in the
next couple of weeks who would be going along. I think it would be a case
of getting a list of people and any dates that each person couldn't make it,
looking at the ring schedule, picking a date, crossing out those who can't
make that date and then booking the hotel.

4. Apparently for food, accomodation and travel a figure of 400-500 quid
per person for the weekend is about right.

5. I'm guessing that if people are willing to camp then it's cheaper and
less of a rush to organise, but it means you have to cart your camping gear
across Europe.

So there you have it, really.
