If lanesplitting bits do not get into the act does that mean that it is
still illegal in nsw and elswhere

It is illegal to pass too close to another vehicle.

It is illegal to pass on the left unless the vehicle you are passing
    is turning right.

If you can lanesplit so that you are not passing on the left, then you
could try fighting the pass too close ticket.

I thought, just *THOUGHT* about filtering past a cop car on
the way to work yesterday morning, and last night whilst on
foot en-route from the office to my bike I got pulled, fed a
line about "fitting the description" of someone who just pulled
an armed robbery, and searched, quizzed, etc.

Vindictive bastards they are, and they've got that mind-reading
    technology too now!

    GB, shady character?

There is no offence of "Lane splitting " in NSW
There are offences for overtake to left of vehicle, not travel wholly
withing lane and drive on lane lines. These are what are used if you are
    stopped for lane splitting.

I also have a Diversion 900 to remind me what 'normal' bikes are like
(currently the Diversion is costing me more than the outfit and the
    Guzzi put together!)

although they have stopped the lane spliting law specifically, other fines
    exists,

the powers that be are now working on making it illegal to own a motorbike
not just ride one. although the 1000% tax on all bikes and bike riders
income might let them keep em to own it, just not ride it.

Bike control laws. we should make up some stickers, i ride and i vote. or
bikes dont kill people, people kill people, or something silly

    T-shits for all

I don't think I have any 'sports-rider' cred (do I?), the last 'sports
bike' I owned was an RGV250.

It's got a vibration in the front end at various speed ranges. I
changed the tyres, checked everything I could think of... currently it's
in the shop while the mechanic scratches his head at $55 an hour.

I almost died of shock. A set of those little plastic screws and the
plastic surrounded metal things to screw them into for the screen was $112.

    Bloody rip orf!
