I know this is a bit ginger but a Lanc (City of Lincoln?) just went over our
house[1] at a couple of thousand feet, flying NW; just too quick to get the
    camera out.

This was a few minutes after I heard two Merlin-powered fights (assumed to
by Spits) just the other side of the trees.

As I type this, a couple of Red Arrows just shot passed going SE.

[1] In essex, east of Basildon.

    Where going to/from?

Two Vulcans running together - last time since early 80s I'd guess.

This would all be on flickr if flickr was actually available - any other
photo storage web doobries anybody would care to recommend?

I saw it about 1.30/2pm a few miles further north and it looked like
    it
was a couple of hundred feet off the ground at the time! Didn't hear
    it
    until it had overflown either.

Didn't see a Lanc, but went to the Old Warden Summer evening flying thing
last night - was very nice.

The Red Arrows went over the stables about 11.45 this morning - great
sight. I wondered where they were going. Then I was in the car about
20 mins later and switched on the Silverstone build up and they were
drowning out the Five Live commentators.

I like the Shuttleworth collection. They've got so many things to
interest blokes who believe Biggles was real that you can spend hours
there and still walk out not having seen it all.

I was going to say "a couple of hundred feet" but I thought that couldn't be
    possible.
On reflection it must have been less than 1,000' as the sky went dark when
    it was overhead!

I haven't been there in over 20 years, as it's only about 10 miles away
I ought to make time to go again sometime soon.

The Red Arrows tend to go over Thornbury occasionally, as the leader is a
    local boy.
