I think the point is that surely it's a disciplinary matter between the
employer and employee, and perhaps legislative matter between
    environmental health and the employer?

Serves people right for eating lettuce. Disgusting limp stuff. I'm of
the SD camp when it comes to the humble leaf.

If were talking something like Radicchio, or some Rocket, or something
that actually has taste in a salad that'd be a different thing.

  6. At this point, I can strongly recommend a book I've just finished.

Headspace, by one Amber Marks. She's a lawyer, freelance journo, and is
    interested in civil liberties.

The book is basically about surveillance technology using scent and how
it's affected by behavioural patterns and environment. There's also a
lot of stuff about militarisation of things like insects and sea
creatures, and the 'War on Terror' psychosis.

Also a lot about the use of dogs in everything from surveillance to
    sniffing explosive traces.

In turn, it's funny, fascinating and very, very worrying. Her first
book, apparently, and I can't wait for the next. Strongly, strongly
recommended by anyone who's the remotest bit concerned about the abuse
of power by the state. Think 'The Men Who Stare At Goats' and take that
    a technological leap further.

As I type this, on a flight up to the Atacama from Santiago, it's being
devoured by The Doctor, who's interested in this sort of thing. The fact
that it has a lot about the use of bees is not coincidental.
