    FFS.

I heard that on the radio except they reported 'low oil' rather than no
oil, which I suspect is more likely true.

Quite why running low on oil is newsworthy (unless it's a new concocted
    'crime') is beyond me though.

  3. He'd have gone faster if both 'pedals'had been properly fixed. FFS.

You're not expecting high journalistic standards from The Metro, are you?

I read almost exactly the same article in the Telegraph [1]
this morning, which implies the poor terminology was used by the
    police in court.

[1] not my usual read, but was in the waiting room at the hospital to
get the results of an MRI scan on my left knee. And the results are
    good.

My old ER-5 passed its MOT two years running with the headlamp held on
by a combination of duct tape and several cable ties holding the
headlamp on. And my B6's gear selector was held on by an elastic band
    for a couple of months.

Don't see what's wrong with laces.

TBF it's not a bad paper usually, if that's the one we get on the
    Metro.

The only effect the appearance of London Lite and thelondonpaper has had
on my life is the realisation that maybe Metro isn't quite so bad.
    Relatively speaking. And it's shit.

"London Lite" is just a crapper version of "Metro", which is itself a
crapper version of the previous day's "London Standard", and all of
them are tainted by their association with the "Daily Mail".

"TheLondonPaper" is just News Corp self-aggrandizing.

The only free-sheet I read regularly is "City AM".

Same here. And I only read that on the office shitter. And then only if
somebody else has brought a copy in.

I like the old saying .. "You only need two things in a toolkit ..
Gaffer Tape and WD40. If it moves and shouldn't then use Gaffer Tape.
If it doesn't move and should then use WD-40."

"prosecuted under the miscellaneous provisions in the Public Order Act"?

It's all going to end in tears, isn't it?

I am amazed the politicians were far sighted enough to include nasal
    lettuce stuffing as an offence.
Does make you wonder what other harmless activities maybe included.

I imagine if he'd employed a competent advocate, the entire proceedings
could have been shown up as the farce they clearly were. I wonder what part
of the legislation was used to prosecute the woman who threw a chair at him?
    All of them.

I got an endorsement and was relieved of ten quid for a loose seat in
    1979.

To be fair, it wasn't actually attached, rather than loose.

Did you not have a bit of red GPO rope to put around it ?

I don't know how much rope the GPO lost in the 1970's but it must have
been enough to rig several Cutty Sarks ... :)

i'm puzzled that so many of you seem to be perfectly content to eat
lettuce that has been up someone's nose. still, i suppose anyone who
buys from those cheap fast-"food" places gets what they... pay for.
