KZ750 Float Bowl Tube Cracked?

I am troubleshooting an fuel overflow problem with my 1981 KZ750.

After checking the overflow hoses from each carb it turns out that the one
on the left is overflowing freely. I pulled the carbs and pulled the float
bowl only to find out that the tube that projects into the float chamber is
    cracked from bottom to top.

What are my options for fixing this?

I have a few thoughts, but am not very familiar with carbs.
    1. Use heat shrink tubing to cover the tube? (I am not sure if it is fuel
    resistant)
    2. Try to solder up the tube?
    3. Replace the bowl outright? (where can I get just one bowl)

    Thanks
    Matt

  2. Heat shrink tubing will likely dissolve in fuel.

That should work, although I'm not sure how well solder will stick to the
cheap aluminum of the float bowls. JB-Weld or some other fuel resistant
epoxy compound might also work. Another solution might be to find a
length of metal (copper) tubing with an inside diameter the same or
slightly larger than the outside of the float bowl tube. Mix up some
JB-Weld and coat the outside of the float bowl tube, and push the length
of metal tubing over the tube.
EBay or a bike junkyard, if you have any in your area.

The solder seemed to do the trick. Once I got it real clean I was able to
tin it and then built it up to cover the crack.

I have a float that is questionable, do you still have these for this bike?

    Thanks, Matt

    Scott,

How much would you like for a float bowl and float?

    Thanks,
    Matt
