More than twice that number attended when TOCA was at its height a few
    years ago.
It might have been a bit monstrous getting out - but I did a runner
over the bridge before the final race, watched from the outside of the
Esses and fucked off quick at the end. Having said that, Snett is
quite well served by exits - three that I know of.

Without you hardly noticing. Racetracks are big.

They may not all easily fit in the paddock at one time, but that's a
    different issue.

k - I stand corrected. Every time I've been there to watch (rather than do)
I've found it to be a bit crap :)

It does get evil leaving from the infield, getting over the bridge and
blending with the Sunday market outpouring. However, many spectators
watch on the outside of the Bomb Hole, Coram and Russell - and there's
another exit over that side, leading on to a different road
altogether. There is also a way out over the very far side from the
main exit, off the end of the S/F straight iyswim.

Or perhaps a 12 hour? All the teams know the format for a 6 hour, so a
12 hour would be a manageable jump, IMHO.

09:00 to 21:00 would have given *some* dusk running, and the next
logical step could have been an 18 hour run, through the night.

it's a lot better now the new road is open, though a bit complicated for
those of us who navigate by compass.

Not surprised. Saw this today when we got the update
about our race still going ahead as planned even though
yours has dropped to an 8 hour.

Somebody up there made some good points about it should
be run as a loss leader this time round and making the
rest back up in gate receipts and the like. It's a shame
they didn't have the "Vision" to do it.

Maybe they don't have the money, or wish to lose that money currently.

Probably the latter, but I'm sure that they could have worked
out the costs to both the entrants and the public to make
it work out as a break-even rather than make-profit exercise,
then guzzle the cash next year.

Once they've got the money from the entrants - don't forget
there are not only the Endurance riders but also the 38-odd
Ducati riders racing on the day, and also 70 spaces for a
trackday too. Plus gate receipts. Plus pitch rental for the
stalls, food sellers, and so on over the two days. That's
quite a bit of money coming in and Snetterton is a relatively
    cheap circuit to hire.

    I bloody did!
Easyjet - you can't cancel and I don't want to just give them my money.
    Are there alternatives?

Well, we'll still be there that weekend.

AntonyE will still be doing his Ducati race on the Saturday. We'll
be doing our qualifying on Saturday afternoon and an 8 hour race on
the Sunday. So if you've found nowt better to do, you're still
welcome to turn up and say hello/take the piss, as appropriate.
That also goes for any of you other slackers too.

The 24h I was happy to fly back for, but I might take some convincing to
come back for an 8 hour race when Assen TT (motogp) is on and only 15
mins from here.... that's assuming there's any tickets left.

Especially if you're going to bin it again! <g>

Great! In that case I'll be there!
    How do I get a pit pass[1]?
Please post or mail the details.

You don't get a pit pass. You don't /need/ a pit pass, all the
garages are open to the rear. It's easy to spot ours, as there will
generally be more people hanging around than at any of the other
    garages.
