Nice to see Stoner gibernizing Rossi in exactly the same place.

And congrats to Honda, they eventually found the right firmware for
    Pedrobot.

I think Stoner showed himslef to be the sporting chap he really is, not.

    Eh? It's racing, it's competitive.

Surely you don't believe that if the (reinforced) boot was on the
other foot, the outcome would not have been identical.

All in all, three interesting races, for a variety of reasons.

Nice? Well, perhaps, if you're a Rossi hater. I was dead impressed
that he fought it as hard as he did, given his injuries. Would have
been nice to see him on the podium.

Only on this track. I don't reckon it's a sign of anything more deep
    than that.
I didn't see anything unsporting. To what are you referring?

You seem to have replied to another post along with mine :)

But, i found Stoners pass at the last a bit late & obvious, racing, yes,
**** him anyhow, the crying doll mofo.

    Yeah, what of it?
Oh, I see, but presumably you've never whinged about Rossi doing the
same on the numerous occasions when he wins out.
Ah, well I'm no big fan either, but he won that dice fair and
square... albeit against an injured opponent.

Neither a hater nor a lover. I am rather pissed of the lovers, as many of
them are next to believe Valentino can walk on waters.
Certainly it would have been great.
They only need some years of further development to get the good firmware
for all the circuits. It is Honda, why don't the Asimo guys help them?

Yep, and it was exactly in that place when Rossi did to Gibernau what he got
    today.

That's what it makes motorcycling great :)

No, it was exactly the same place where Gibernau did it to Rossi.

    You're thinking of Jerez.

Not even close to being Gibernized. There was **** all wrong with Gibernau
    when Rossi mugged him.
It didn't look like that until after the race was stopped and Honda could
use a different fuel map. Ped was well on his way to being thrashed again
before that. I'll reserve judgement until after the next *full* race.

Sure he is the best, and the most entertaining by far. And the only racer
found drunken in a Montmelo toilett at 4:00 am by a friend of mine :-D

What I don't like are fan attitudes like the "senza Vale non vale" (it is
not a valid race without Valentino). ****, rule #1 to be the best rider is
"do not fall", he failed and the result of the races without him is
    perfectly valid.

Point of order: "senza Vale no vale" is Spicspeak, not Dagospeak.

    But yes, that's Latin attitude.

Can I have a Latin attitude to notice that today's 3 winners are from
    Barcelona province? :)

My memory may be incorrect, but didn't Pedrosa set the fastest lap just
before the red flag? Either way, Lorenzo certainly wasn't getting away.

I've developed an intense dislike of Pedrosa over the last year or so,
simply due to the number of races he's ruined for those of us who like
to see wheel-to-wheel scraps. He's always first or second come the
first corner, but as his pace is hardly ever good enough to stay there,
the field gets strung out as everyone else takes a lap or so to pass
    him.

If he has finally got a bike with genuinely good race pace rather than
just good from a standing start so that doesn't keep happening, I'll be
    a happy bunny.

I must admit that my first thought on seeing the thread title was that
it was about that doctor who killed a bloke by overdosing him.

I think Lorenzo had already got away. Pedrosa may well have set the fastest
lap, but he wasn't going to catch and pass Lorenzo. At least not as I saw
    it.

When he shows that he's actually a racer (against other racers, as opposed
to a racer who races the track) I may change my opinion about him, but so
far, he's not shown any real racer traits.

I didn't watch him in the 125/250 races, so maybe he CAN race, but I've seen
    no evidence.

He was actually quite canny in those classes. Tended to stay out of
trouble, didn't really "fight" in a Marquez kind of way, but displayed a
master class of tactics and being in the right place[1] at the right time
[2]. As I recall, he didn't often do the take off into the distance
thing, so had to mix it up a little.

I was quite excited when he went to the big class, thinking he'd be the
man to take it to Rossi. However, the showdowns that we expected never
    really happened.
