Well, i have had my knee down before, but through more luck than judgement,
on tracks etc. Not had a great day today, so i jumped on the BMW & fucked
off through Leathley towards Ripon. We do this run quite a bit & there's a
great roundabout near the Army Foundation College that has knee down written
all over it, well, that & Massingberd VW :)

I have tried loads of times to GMKD here & failed. It's fucking annoyed my
bollocks off for a couple of years. I had been trying in 2nd & way too slow
making the throttle very twitchy on the BMW. I tried it in 3rd much faster
tonight & pissed it after one go round. I then did another 20 victory laps
with my knee down :) I'll bet the cars wondered what the **** was going on
    :)

Titanium knee sliders. You know it makes sparks.

It's as pointless as getting your knee down on the road anyway. I mean,
why bother doing it in the first place? On the track, for mere mortals,
it's just a function of going fast and ooops, there it is. We're not
holding the front up on the knee. On the road for most people the entry
speed when you GYKD is slower than when not, so it's not about riding
fast, it's purely about showing off.

My mates and I were melting titanium bolts into knee sliders over 10 years
    ago.

Your right though, track folk don't like it, so I used to change sliders
    when doing a track day.

You've missed my point. I'm all for KDs and am very happy that you've
finally managed to conquer a roundabout. However you claimed that
titanium sliders are pointless, but if you're going to show-off, why not
do it with sparks. Just not the falling off kind.

Yep - know the one :) Nice one. Think I'll keep my KD's for the
track ...oh that'll be tomorrow then....

Just get some bolts and drill/screw/melt them in. Much cheapness. Mine
    lasted fucking ages.
