My 'kids' have a corn snake. Apart from food, what else is there to buy
    them? (Serious question.)

Sri, if you and Pip are replying to me then yes please.

Her actual metal knee is now better than the other natural one (the
remaining one was the better of the two etc).

She had doubts along the way though .. going from "why did I ever do
it, I wish I still had my old knee" to "I can't even walk down stairs
like I used to with my bad knee" then "if I ever have the other one
done ..." to "I walked home from work tonight and the only discomfort
is from my old knee" .. ;-)

    And she's normally a tough old bird .. ;-)

    All the best ..

Not in need, but I've started worrying about protecting my middle-aged
knees because I ski and occasionally (as in once every couple of
    years) enter distance running events.

I was actually looking specifically at MX ones which appeared to be
armoured and may have had additional padding - you need to grip the
bike with your knees, so they have to be comfortable under those
    circumstances.

If the Doctor's supplier does these then yes please, I'd definitely be
    interested.

iPods, game consoles, booze, drugs etc. Kids are usually quite good at
    articulating their requirements.

At the moment it's mainly setting up a viv for it here (it currently
resides round her boyfriends) so that's viv, heat pad, thermostat,
light, a couple of hides, big water bowl, door lock / wedge, substrate
    etc etc (apparently).

She may buy a second hand viv off her b/f or build one herself from
some ply a mate of mine gave her recently.

    All the best ..

Ah, he/she has all that already. I was wondering whether they needed bells
or mirrors or little ladders to climb up and down - that sort of thing.
Ooh, or one of those studded leather collars to make them look hard,
    perhaps.

Well not corn snakes ... they might like ladders or stuff to climb up
and down on if they are arboreal (she tells me) other than that, I
    doubt it. ;-)
lol .. she does all the 'hard looking' these days, if she's not in her
steels and cammo trousers it's her Taekwondo kit .. ;-)

It was quite funny a while back when doing some post CBT training on
her 125 Skipper. It was her and a 17 year old lad waiting to go out on
the road with the instructor and when they came back a couple of hours
later it was just her and the instructor?

I asked her where the lad had gone and she said "I dunno, he just
bottled it at the begriming and went home" :-(

    All the best ..

  8. Hers are secured with Velcro and articulated so the knee can only bend
in the plane it should do. Some padding, certainly, but not much, as
they're intended to be worn under ski trousers.

Heh. Given how often people here refer to SWMBO I'd assumed we had a

  19. H. Rider Haggard wrote books. Amongst his books were 'She', 'Ayesha'
and King Solomons Mines. These books feature a very powerful,
semi-immortal woman (Ayesha) whose title was 'She Who Must Be Obeyed".
