Knackered thermostat?

My T595 has been running hot, not thought too much of it as they do that
apparently. Anyway i gave it a clean and warm up over the weekend and
noticed that after only a few minutes the temp was quite high, the fan was
running and yet the expansion tank and the lines (that i could feel) were
still cold. Does this suggest a knackered thermostat?

    Cheers

My T595 has been running hot, not thought too much of it as they do that
Quite possibly, and then again it might be a bit of a blockage. I'd check
the stat anyway in a pot of boiling water and see if it operates.
If in doubt change it (And don't forget the anti-freeze)

  3. Dunno. In fact I dont even know if bikes have thermostats? Do they?
The reason I wonder this is that I always used to have to tape up half
the (specially large) radiators on my tuned race bikes when in cold
conditions which would indicate no thermostat. But perhaps they had
    been removed.

Maybe your water pump is shagged?

    Yes, road bikes do.
SOP. One less thing to go wrong, removing the 'stat also improves
flow. It's usually an issue keeping race-tuned bikes cool enough, nas
opposed to getting them up to temperature at 3Krpm going to work down
    a country lane at 3am.

You'll find it in the circuit to the oil cooler somewhere...

Would be my guess as well. The expansion tank on my ST never got warm
either, but at least the hoses to/from the radiator were.

That said, I'd expect the radiator to be hot...
