Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Rich Mattock "You'll all be doing it termorrer!"
I took one look at that and immediately thought the bearings will be very short lived. One suspects that the claimed advantages are wiped out by the disadvantages. Which was confirmed by the wiki article. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hubless_wheel That's crying out for the development of cheap and reliable magnetic bearings. Even then it'll be a struggle to seal out all the road crap. Still they look nice. Even if the rest of the bike is a left pondian abortion.
Abortions rarely do, but I'd love to see it (a) go around a corner and (b) go over a speed bump. -- Beav VN 750 Zed 1000 OMF# 19
Air bearings have been around for a while, now; they've been used on industrial machinery such as grinders. Might be easier to implement than magnetic but I have no idea how *much* air they need.
