Whilst checking it over prior to an MOT this weekend, I noted a failed
    offside rear indicator. Bum.

Took lens off: bulb in pieces! Holder has come adrift from the shell.

New (spare) indicator sourced from depths of garage, and wired in.

    Success.

Further checks revealed loose silencers, at the footrest mounts. Both
    sides.

Footrests are non-OEM, and instead of Mr Kawasaki's finest cheesy
bolts, they're held on with a 2" length of studding with a Nyloc nut
    on each end. Oh joy.

Much swearing later, they're off, the silencers have fallen to the
floor, and the copper exhaust gaskets have made a bid for freedom.

Two suitable sized bolts are retrieved from the Mr Fastener Bumper Tub
of Joy, and we're off, and running.

Then I spot one of the shock mounting nuts hanging by a thread. This
seems to be the final iffy fastener. Sorted.

Finally, I decide to check the fuel lines, whereupon one snaps, and
the non-vacuum tap proceeds to empty fresh unleaded all over me. Oh
    deep joy.

New lines attached, and it starts first kick.

    Fingers crossed for Friday.

PS My second "feet-up" this morning.

    In the rain.

    I rock. :)

With such tales of quiet joy, it is easy to understand the appeal of the
    classic motorcycle.

...and then proceeded to dump all the remaining fuel through a split
    vacuum diaphragm.
    Bollocks.

Oi, AndyR & Eddie! Got a spare fuel tap anywhere?

You must be joking. Project BoxOfDog hasn't even made it to my garage
yet, never mind us having the foggiest idea what bits we've got.

I've got a feeling there's a spare front end though, if you're interested.
