Saturday sees the last KP autojumble of the year - always a busy one, unless it pisses down. It's only three weeks since the last one, which resulted in me phoning Timo and telling him there was another XL250S Motosport up for grabs. Frantic screams came out of the handset, which was then passed to the seller, and of course the silly sod bought it. Or rather, I bought it for him. I remind you that this is the man who said he deliberately wasn't going to go because he knew he'd spend money if he did. KP gets you like that. Anyway, it's always a damn good day out, and there really are some bargains to be had. I picked up a brand new pair of aftermarket cans for my XS650 for £65 last time. Mind you, I also paused by the Aeroplane Man (he flogs all sorts of ex-RAF bits and bobs, and on one memorable occasion tried to sell me an ejector seat) because he had a drop tank from an old F86 Sabre. I know, I know. It had a sign on it saying "Would make good sidecar body", and for a moment I paused and thought; "Hmmm, it would, too... And there's a geezer over there with a sidecar chassis for sale...." And then I got a grip. God knows what The Doctor would have said if I'd come back with a drop tank. I loved the seller's logic, though. "I've wound up owning a drop tank! I know, I'll take it to Kempton. Some nutter there is bound to buy it." So if anyone's not get anything better to do, see you there? KP is between Hampton Court and Sunbury, SW edge of London.
