AOL. It's also a bit half-hearted saying he keeps the bike in the
house and only allowing it in the kitchen.

To really bond with one's bike, let it into the lounge and up onto the
sofa occasionally. But remember, *never* allow it onto your bed at
night, it will think it's an *equal* in the family and this could lead
to the bike biting you in a bid to gain superiority.

    <didn't snip mutilated text>

If it's waterproof, it isn't a proper Landy.

Let it into the lounge by all means, but make sure you have the telly or
the radio on so it's got some company when you go out.

Also, a hot water bottle, dressed up as a bike will keep it warm at
night so it won't feel the need to jump into your bed and start back-
    firing under the sheets.

Fecks sake, a Landy in the garage ? they're built for sitting outside getting wet.
Heh. They all do that, Sir.

Still, my series 3 just drained out through the gaps in the floor ..

That's why it's got a flat floor and gaps in the doors, unlike those
    Freeloader things. heh..

It all depends, dunnit. The first thing that your house insurance
will ask is if there was another insurance policy in force at the
time, covering anything involved in the fire. This is because you are
supposed to claim against the "most appropriate" policy. You will end
up with a load of toing and froing between house and bike insurers,
    minimum.

A lot would depend on the cause of the fire. If it was found to be
bike-related, then you could well be in the shit for storing it
'inappropriately', as houses full of soft furnishings and inflammable
items and surfaces are not viewed as being sensible places to store
potentially hot, oil dripping, wheeled petrol bombs. If it turned out
to be house-related, then you'd likely be in the shit with the bike
insurers for keeping the bike in the house for the above reasons.

Whatever, I reckon you would be in a world of pain.

As he patently cannot format a post or manage to leave an attribution
line intact, I suspect that the feeling will be mutual ;-)
