Kawasaki Z1R - Original Paint info (need to know Equivalent automotive paint code)

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Fox in The Hat Productions, May 27, 2004.

  1. I have a Kawasaki Z1R and want to paint it back to the original colour
but I need to know an Equivalent automotive paint code to mix it. If
    someone has
had a paint shop scan the original colour and received a code for this
    colour
please post it or email it. I don't have a part with the original
colour and if I did it would be faded.

Could a scan of the sales Brochure work if I got my hands on one?
Would Kawasaki still have samples of this colour and how would I
    contact them?

1978 Kawasaki Z1R COLOUR: METALLIC STARDUST SILVER (most people call
it original blue paint) but it's offical name from Kawasaki is
    METALLIC STARDUST SILVER.

    Speak to these guys: http://www.motorbikepaint.co.uk/

They'll probably know, and be able to supply the paint. Good guys to
    deal with.

    No connection, etc, etc, etc...

    In
I would have though a bike paint specialist (ie Dream Machine etc)

    http://www.dream-machine.co.uk

would be able to do the job and have records of the actual paint etc.
    Probably,
