    The pity is, bikes don't have to cost astronomical amounts for the
    racing to be entertaining.

  5. Indeed. Or be super-fast. I *still* think the best racing I've witnessed
    in years is classic racing.

    Trouble is, you have a cheapo class, it gathers momentum and starts
    being taken seriously, and someone (usually Honda) starts throwing huge
    amounts of dosh at it. And the others are either forced to follow suit,
    or face losing every time.

    If MotoGPNews is to be believed, the replacement for the 250GP class is
    designed to address that. No electronics and any team is able to buy
    another team's engine at the end of a race for a fixed price of 20
    grand.

    And it sounds like the engines will all be Hondas anyway.
