Hi does anybody know if the headlight from a zx6r is the same as the
headlight from a zx9r (of similar vintage) ? need to replace my
headlight (zx9r C1) due to a change in the MOT rules.

    Cheers.

    I don't know, but I suspect not.
Eh? Care to enlighten us as to what has changed and why a C1
    headlight will fail?

And when rule changes became retrospectively applicable.

That sound like bullshit to me. I used to have one.

Sorry, should have mentioned - almost got knocked back on my last mot
in july last year due to the fact that my import ZX9R gave off too
much light on the right hand side - the mot tester showed me the new
pages in the mot manual - we applied tape to the headlight to solve
this and the bike then passed. was warned that this would not be
allowed in the futer - thus my posting asking about headlight sizes.

    regards

    RayStan.

So you've got a continental headlight with a right-hand-up beam. So
it's never been legal and should have failed the MOT last time.
Nothing to do with a change in the rules.
