You missed a rather pleasant afternoon. The Ace is quite an interesting place, I am glad I went (I now have a rather natty Ace Cafe London sticker too). Highlights: 3 Z1's, absofuckinglutelyfucking gorgeous. Several KH500's One KH (?)750 My Zephyr being commented on as being "completely original". Since getting my licence, winter has been a testing time. I always feel guilty if the weekend is reasonable and I am not out on the bike, and then there is always the battle between doing family stuff and being arsed to get togged up and get the bike out of the shed. Today it was cold, but my thermals did their job, the bike behaved itself immaculately and I was at one with the world. In summary, bikes fucking rock, and anyone who says otherwise is a ****. -- Dan L (Oldbloke) My bike 1996 Kawasaki ZR1100 Zephyr M'boy's bike 2003 Honda NSR125R Spare Bike 1990 Suzuki TS50X BOTAFOT #140 (KotL 2005), DIAABTCOD #26, BOMB#18 (slow)
Dan L says... Having spent all day up to my eyeballs in Tokico caliper seals and brake fluid, I must be some kind of ****.
Well yes, they can be. If left alone. Really? Or several H1s? No, no, and thrice no. H2. Why shouldn't it be? Quite. One had a single seat jobbie. Having now seen 'em in the flesh I am quite preoared to admit that the Zephyr is, at best, a poor homage. I dunno, I'll defer to your greater knowledge of such matters. They were 500cc's, triples, 2 strokes, and sounded like a swarm of extremely pissed off bees. No KH250's in attendance, are they particularly rare? Whatever it was, I want one just for the sound. Yes, but being such an unremarkable machine it was (apparently) unusual to find one which hadn't been "improved" by subsequent owners. -- Dan L (Oldbloke) My bike 1996 Kawasaki ZR1100 Zephyr M'boy's bike 2003 Honda NSR125R Spare Bike 1990 Suzuki TS50X BOTAFOT #140 (KotL 2005), DIAABTCOD #26, BOMB#18 (slow)
There were many more 250s sold than 500s, but I suspect most were thrashed to an early grave by zillions of spotty learners.
I spend all day in doors. Isn't there supposed to be some sort of bike and or scooter meeting down at Brighton sea front tomorrow?
You are possibly right. Thinking about it, would a KH be a sensible [1] choice for a resto SOB?
