Yeah Peter, mine sounds exactly the same when its cold. Rays been looking
after my bike since 87 so I don't stress to much.

I was talking to Ray Peake and he told me to keep running it until it shits
    itself.
A new output shaft is around the $2000.00 mark without any labour charges.
Ray can fit a 2 valve K block, fully reconditioned for about the $3500.00,
thats new output shaft, water pump seals, injectors etc. There is also the
option of fitting a K1100 block which means you have to use the full wiring
loom, speedo and injection unit for about the $5500.00. Plus Ray said you
can also fit the K1 cams to the K1100 motor which will push the HP to 100
rear wheel HP. As my old 2 valve K only produces about 70Hp from the rear
wheel I think the extra 30 HP for around the $5500.00 is pretty good value
especially when my old girl turns 18 years old at the end of November.

Long live the " fuggen" K series I say.

I don't have to remove anything to service my Oilhead or Bricks, that's
The difference between you and I John, is that when I purchsed my K100RS
back in 87, I new that when I purchased it I couldn't afford to pay so
called BM mechanics, like Morgan and Wally's to look after my bike, so I
taught myself and I have saved a fortune over the years. Morgan and Wally's
wouldn't no how to look after a Bm even if you slapped em across the face
with a steaming turd. Harley dealers they are, BM's they fall way short.

My mechanic doesn't do basic services. He chooses customers who do the
easy stuff themselves, leaving him free for diverse magic (like my
    speedo).

  9. do the servicing. But being a humble *cough* research student, means shallow
    pockets and short arms.

Not deep pockets, just short arms, I don't drink, don't smoke and bad women
have never had an interest in me (except for Ronda).

Short arms, long snout? (Query, not accusation).

The detestable Hodgman clan in Tasmania are proud to say that they've been
in state/federal parliament since 1896. Anyone else would be embarrassed to
admit they'd had their snout in the public trough for so long.

The revolting Peter Hodgman, now shadow attorney-general and "tough on
crime" defended Chopper Read and was best man at Read's wedding.

Last night on TV the appalling Wentworth dynasty were crowing about the land
grants and patronage they had been given. The whole bunch of them make my
    skin crawl.
