K Series at Heathrow T5

So... left work on Thursday, HEX to Heathrow and got to the bike (Silver
K1100LT). I noticed around me two other K1100LTs, one K1100RS and three
K100RTs. Out of about 40 or so bikes.

What is it about airport bike parks and K series?

And... who did the blue K1100LT with the UKRM logo on the numberplate
belong to?

 

TOG was traveling wasn't he? he posted here a couple of weeks ago
about parking at HR.

Well, I thought his bike had fucked panniers that were in the wrong
colour or something.

If I'd known it was his I'd have left a message... such as "I know where

He sourced some replacements.

Naah, just adjust the panniers to your previous expectations - I'm
sure he'll be grateful.

Nah. I bought a spare pair of black ones, but managed to resurrect the
old ones.

 

....and the seeing behind function.

 

And the cost. Something like £90 each new, in primer, and hard to find
second-hand.

 

And - a crucial point - enough luggage for one to lock all one's riding
kit away for the duration, as it were.

 

Well, I had bar muffs and heated grips. More pissed that I had close to
800 miles of contintental motorways piloting a sidecar with no fucking
mirrors on it.

Ended up doing about 200 miles and buying some harley ones which I gaffa
taped to the bike. Far better than nothing.

Yes indeed. Would still like to break their fucking fingers.

 

Far better than buying a whole Harley, IMHO.

 

Someone halfinched one of my front brake calipers - I didn't notice
until I got to the end of the road . . . .
