    You might remember the thread from October about rider David Berridge of
    Sunnyvale, who was killed on the two-lane section of Highway 1 north of
    Monterey near Moss Landing. A northbound driver attempted a pass over
    the double yellow in the fog but hit the car she was passing, which went
    out of control, first off the right shoulder then into the southbound
    lane where it hit Berridge's Harley head-on. The driver of the car that
    caused the crash by making the illegal pass pled guilty and has been
    sentenced to two years in prison. See details here:

    Thanks for posting that, Dan. Berridge was my next door neighbor, much
    of the time, an all around nice guy. His mother still hasn't managed
    to bring herself to sell his old pickup truck, nor the Camaro that he
    was restoring to running condition when we moved in here next door.
    I'm glad that in this case, the court was able not to overlook the
    obvious.
