He might have managed to use a bit more tyre if he'd used his front
brake instead of his engine when he was slowing for corners.

that's a poor offer. I only paid 6.5K including an alarm.
    that's the plan.

Now black & gold like the old JPS Lotus scheme, that'd probably look ok.

Heh, ITYF the 12R was balling the tread at the edges on the front, let
alone the rear on that Mallory trackday.

I'm perfectly comfortable with my corner speed thanks ;)

Well TBF I thought the reticence was utter bollocks, at least once the
case was out of court. If you don't want it known one wouldn't refer to
    it at all.

    I'd use "restrained". YMMV.

    Who made you the moderator?

I'm happy to talk about the bike purchase, if low-mileage SV650s are
your thing. I'm quite open about the criminal side, because it's done
and dusted. But the accident itself involved third parties who may not
be quite so done and dusted, and I'm quite sure they wouldn't appreciate
it being joked over in a public forum. I enjoy gallows humour as much as
anyone, if not more, and I still find it hard to see the funny side, as
it were. Remember, I post here for my benefit, not yours or anyone
else's, and if that pisses on your parade then so be it.

I can't agree here. Apparently not everyone feels the need to share
their lives in intimate detail like you and I do. Odd as it may seem.

"I had an accident, it was serious, and that's I all I want to say on
the matter" is perfectly acceptable way of answering the "why haven't
you still got your bike" type of questions. In my opinion.

    Just an oar dear boy
My own special angle on this is:
if it was a pedo on the open road then who gives a flying ****,
    jaywalking ****.
if it was a pedo on a crossing, or he launched it on the pavement, it's
worth telling just to satisfy the ghouls

I was met at my A&E bed and taken straight for an interview that day,
under caution, having been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving
and GBH. Then a written statement and "no comment" session a few weeks
later, on the advice of my solicitor. Eventually, after the CPS had
opted for careless driving, a guilty plea in court. The longest two
months of my life, especially as at one point it looked like it might
    get worse, not better.

Depends what you mean by "someone else". I've cracked jokes about my own
father's demise, that good enough for you?

Yeah. Pay attention when driving, that's the first one. The second one
is also pay attention when driving. So's the third, the fourth, and the
    four after that.
Then "find a top flight solicitor, pay up, and do exactly what he says",
and finally "look after number one, but if you fucked up, do the decent
thing and take it on the chin."

    **** you.

    Bear says...
I'm of the mind that what happened is still subject to a compensation
claim, and as such Ogden would be ill advised to talk about it openly.
As and when it's settled we'll all find out, if he feels like telling
us. As it is, we know enough to get by on and take the piss out of him
    if we so feel.

Whilst I may be intrigued it's not going to ruin my life if I don't find
out soon, so I can wait to hear what it's all about.
